Guest Lecturer for What is Education, Week 1

9th January 2012
I did miss this lecture but i have found out some information out about it:
It was run by a man called ken Jones. He was talking about the local authorities role in education, and the main issues that effected them such as size and capacity of local authorities.
He also mentioned the 2006 and 2010 Programme for international students assessment (PISA), along with developments that should be made.

Windows Movie Maker

For this task we were given a video camera and were hold to create a video about a certain aspect of university. My group had 'the course' for our subject, we stayed at the university and videoed things we thought were relevant to our course. Such as lecturer and there office doors with there name and subject, unfortunately we did have a few problems with windows movie maker, but so did most groups. So the editing process was a little bit limited, but we were still able to put all the short films we took into the right order and add some text. Then each group showed their video and I think the idea was that each groups video would join together to make a movie about university life.

It was fun and enjoyable to do, it was a shame we could not do more work in making and editing movies. We may of had more chance if windows movie maker had been working correctly, still the whole experiences was very entertaining.

Last week before Christmas

I only caught the end of this weeks lesson, due to a mix up with the lesson times, but it did look like a fun lesson to end the term on. I was lucky enough to see everyone hard work without putting in any work myself. All the groups did a great job, i was thoroughly amused. Each group had to interpret there version of the nativity scene and record it with some form of technology. Which was great fun to watch or listen to, and there were some very interesting and unique ideas.
