In this weeks session we used 2DIY or '2Do It Yourself' to create your own game. With this software program the pupil actually does it by themselves, the pupil can create pussies, quizzes, games and many different kinds of activities and when complete share there work online. in my eyes the main positive about the game it can be used throughout the curricular.
2simple the creators of the the software describe the game on their website, 'There are plenty of opportunities for meaningful learning as children plan, design, create, publish and play.' (http://www.2simple.com/)They later go on the stress that the software

Trafalgar Origins
Trafalgar Origins
The games was based around a television series entitled
‘Bloody Foreigners’ the main aim of this series was to show how Britain was
supported in battle by non-British national. There was also a large online
section with this game playing a large role, the game was designed to engage
their teen audiences. During the game you command Napoleons Royal Navy as the
British, French and Spanish fight.
There is a training section where the play can learn the
basics such as sailing their ships and building a crew. One negative that I did
fine about this game was that controlling the ships where hard and slightly
frustrate but I am sure the produces of the game could argue that controlling a
ship took a lot of skill and it is realistic and accurate game play. After that
came the arcade section which builds these skills with historic battles that
nelson experienced.
The game is fun and engaging, and as far as I can tell the
facts and details are very accurate to the real life events. A nice tough I
thought was this game gives the option of both single-player and multi-player
modes where friends can join you live in battle. The game also connects with
Facebook which is common in non-education games but I think is again a nice
tough allowing player to join with friends completing with achievement and
scores. Visually the game looks good with menu screens, charts and maps
designed with the time period in mind. The animation is also very accurate the
boats do move in a realistic manner.
I believe the game does capture the player’s attention and
imagination, It should appeal to teens. The game is well made and does help you
to understand the history.
